Show your work calendar on your personal phone
You can see your work schedule alongside your personal events by publishing your Outlook (work) calendar and subscribing to it from your personal calendar app. You do this yourself — no IT request needed.
1. Publish your work calendar
Section titled “1. Publish your work calendar”Do this on a computer, in Outlook on the web:
- Go to outlook.office.com/calendar and sign in with your work account.
- Click the gear (Settings, top-right) → Calendar → Shared calendars.
- Under “Publish a calendar”, select Calendar, then pick how much detail
to share:
- Can view when I’m busy — busy/free blocks only, no titles (most private)
- Can view titles and locations — a good middle ground
- Can view all details — everything (not recommended)
- Click Publish. Two links appear — copy the ICS link (the one meant for subscribing).
2. Add it to your personal calendar
Section titled “2. Add it to your personal calendar”Pick whichever calendar app your phone uses:
- Google Calendar — on a computer at calendar.google.com: Other calendars → + → From URL → paste the ICS link → Add calendar. It then shows in the Google Calendar app and widget on your phone.
- iPhone / Apple Calendar — Settings → Calendar → Accounts → Add Account → Other → Add Subscribed Calendar → paste the ICS link.
- Personal Outlook.com — Add calendar → Subscribe from web → paste the ICS link.
Two things to know
Section titled “Two things to know”- Subscribed feeds refresh on the calendar provider’s own schedule (Google can lag a few hours). That’s normal, not a bug.
- When you leave the company, unpublish the calendar: same screen in Outlook on the web → change it to Not shared / stop publishing.
Prefer a widget instead?
Section titled “Prefer a widget instead?”On Android, if what you actually want is your work calendar as a home-screen widget (rather than merged into a personal app), that’s supported too — the badged Outlook widget can sit on your personal home screen. Long-press the home screen → Widgets → Outlook. Publishing (above) and the widget are two different routes to “see my work schedule on my phone” — use either or both.
