Get your device compliant

Company email, Teams, and files are protected so they can only be reached from a managed, compliant device. That means each device has to be enrolled and healthy before it can get in. This guide covers Windows and Android.

Your sign-in is firstname.lastname@skmeridian.com (your IT contact will confirm the exact address). The first time you sign in you’ll set up multi-factor authentication — install the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone and follow the prompts. This is required for everyone.

Windows computer

It must be Windows 10 or 11 Pro

Check Settings → System → About → Edition. Home cannot enroll or comply. If it says Home, stop and tell your IT contact.

1. Open Settings → Accounts → Access work or school → Connect.
2. Pick the right option. On the popup, do not just type your email in the top box — that only “adds an account” and won’t work. Instead click the blue link at the bottom: “Join this device to Microsoft Entra ID.”
3. Sign in with your work email and password, and approve the MFA prompt.
4. Finish the prompts and restart if asked. After restarting, sign in to Windows with your work account.
5. The computer enrolls and turns on disk encryption automatically — leave it running. Give it 15–30 minutes to finish before the next step.

If email or Teams says your device “isn’t compliant” right after joining, it just hasn’t finished checking in — wait about 30 minutes and try again.

Android phone

Your work apps run in a separate, badged work profile. Your personal apps, photos, and messages stay completely private — the company only manages the work side, and can only wipe the work side.

1. From the Google Play Store, install Microsoft Intune Company Portal.
2. Open Company Portal → sign in with your work email → approve MFA (set up Microsoft Authenticator if prompted).
3. Tap Begin / Set up. This creates the work profile. Accept the prompts.
4. When it finishes, you’ll see a second set of work apps marked with a small briefcase badge.
5. Use the badged (work) Outlook and Teams for company email and chat. If they don’t appear on their own, open the work Play Store (inside the work profile) and install them, or give it a few minutes.

Note

Always use the badged work versions of Outlook and Teams. The regular personal copies won’t have access to company data — that’s by design.

What’s blocked

Built-in / native mail apps and non-managed browsers can’t reach company mail on mobile. Use Outlook, Teams, and Microsoft Edge for work.
